No winner in the turbulent derby in the “Lande”: The SC Freiburg, on Christian Streich’s return to the training bench after an exchange of emotions, has secured the first counter of the season.
In the Baden-Wuttemberg duel on the third day of the Bundesliga football match, the Breisgauer fought against the previous one. Also pointless VfB Stuttgart a 3:3 (1:1).
Jerome Gondorf had led the Badeners, who for the first time stood on the sidelines after his disc fall, after 51 seconds, Emiliano Insua (44.) balanced with the first Stuttgart hit of the still young season.
Then Mario Gomez (48.) in his 300. Bundesliga game for the VfB leadership and after the interim compensation by Gondorf’s free kick (52.) struck again (56). The end point was replaced by Luca Waldschmidt (81). After repeated foul play, the Fribourg Pascal Stenzel saw the yellow-red card (83.).
“I would like to exchange the goals for three points,” Gomez said after the game at “Sky”: “We lost two points. We were about to shoot the fourth gate. Christian Streich explained: “If you catch up twice, you will be satisfied in the end. But we get the counter-gate too easy, which is extremely annoying.”

Strike as the driver on the side line
Strike had already worked almost as usual with his season bonus. The 53-year-old directed, corrected and motivated his team as if there had never been the pain he himself described with “as if the dentist had drilled repeatedly at the open tooth”. And the effect that the return of their driver had on the swimmers was immediately felt against the “Lander” rival.
For, almost with the first action, the hosts took the lead in the black forest stadium sold out with 24.000 spectators. After a ball win in the middle field, Florian had served out Mike Frantz, whose model flank Gondorf only needed to be beheaded. The SCF continued to press the button and, thanks to aggressive presses, came again and again to dangerous actions.
Nils Petersen (7.) by direct download, Jannik Haberer (28.) and finally again Petersen (36.), who set a magnifying glass too low on his own and thus failed VfB goalkeeper Ron-Robert Zieler, However, there were good possibilities.
The receipt was just before the break. After a corner and a failed rescue by Captain Frantz, Insua threatens the ball from the second row to the goal.
Turbulent start in half-time two
At the beginning of the second half the events missed each other. First Gomez met Gomez from a short distance, then Gondorf swung a free kick from about twenty meters worth seeing into the long corner. But the Freiburg enjoyment of the balance did not last long. Then Gomez met on the other side with a placed head-fall for the new leadership for the VfB.
Freiburg voted against the defeat and also had good chances through a Lattentreffer by Frantz (70). Joker Waldschmidt rewarded the efforts with the rebalancing.
