GREAT BRITAIN

The Guardian”: “Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes may have faltered in the last round in Silverstone, But his victory at the Grand Prix of Spain was as devastating a display of superiority as he had delivered it all season long. That was the world champion in his element, with such control, He was at a different level of precision and speed than his rivals.”

“Daily Mail”:“Lewis Hamilton has overtaken Michael Schumacher after winning the Spanish Grand Prix on Sunday with a view to most podiums in F1 history. The six-time World Champion continued his good season start with a victory in Spain and ended the race with a comfortable advance of 24 seconds on second place Max Verstappen. The result was the 156. Grand Prix podium place of his career in only 256 races, while Schumacher achieved only 155 podium places in his career.”

“The Sun”:“Lewis Hamilton has set a new record for most podium places in the history of Formula One after his devastating victory in Spain. Hamilton led from the start to the finish with a sovereign performance to the 88th victory of his career.”

SPANIEN

“Marca”:“Lewis Hamilton dominated the Great Prize from beginning to end and achieved his 88. F1 victory. With this, he was only three victories behind the 91 by Michael Schumacher and confirmed his lead in the World Championship, where he scores 37 points in front of Max Verstappen, who was second in today’s race, but always with great distance.”

“Mundo Deportivo”:“Lewis Hamilton won his 88th this Sunday in the Spanish F1 GP. Victory in Formula 1 is thus only three victories away from Michael Schumacher’s historical record. The British pilot did this with a great superiority over Verstappen and Bottas (…).”

AUSTRIA

“Kronen Zeitung”:“Career victory 88 for Lewis Hamilton! The British World Champion showed up humorless at the second Grand Prix in Barcelona and celebrated a safe start-goal victory. (…) At the podium, Hamilton is already number one. With his victory he surpassed Schumacher (156 rankings in the top three against 155). (…) Schumacher record in range. Only three Grand Prix successes separate Hamilton from record holder Michael Schumacher, the German record champion has won 91 races.”

“Courier”: “A formula-1-Grand-Prix of the records in Barcelona. Lewis Hamilton is the pilot with most podiums after his victory. (…) The sixth season race was one of the more boring and ended with a Lewis Hamilton start-goal victory.”

SWITZERLAND

“View”:“Hamilton Show in Barcelona! The Mercedes-Pilot drives away from everyone and wins at the 6th GP of the season. Who is going to stop this man?”

ITALY

“La Repubblica”:“Charles Leclerc’s Ferrari was disqualified because of an electronic problem (…) that became incredibly, proudly seventh by Sebastian Vettel. The GP of Spain does not convey any particular racing emotions and concludes with the usual image: Lewis Hamilton wins his 88th GP in his career and thus shortens the distance to the record of Michael Schumacher (91), with this fourth success of the year he expands the overall rating (132 points).”

“Gazzetta dello Sport”:“Tire Master Seb. The German makes 36 rounds with a set of used soft tires. Recently, he has done a lot to be criticised, but this time he has fought. How much longer until the end?”
