Pavard-Poker: VfB denies agreement with FC Bavaria

After a strong season in the Bundesliga and a sensational World Cup final in Russia, half of Europe is after Benjamin Pavard. At VfB Stuttgart, however, no offers have yet been received for the foreign defender.

“We firmly assume that Benji will play another season with us,” said VfB Sports Director Michael Reschke on Sunday at the edge of a test game against the “picture”. Standing now, Reschke said, “no request for him has yet been received from us”.

The VfB boss thus contradicted the latest media reports, according to which FC Bayern has already agreed to a change with the World Champion. The “SWR” had reported that Pavard (contract up to 2021) signed a contract with the German record champion valid from 2019 during the tournament in Russia. FCB boss Karl-Heinz Rummenigge did not want to comment on the rumors.

Written ransom amount of 35 million euros

If the Frenchman does not leave the Swabians this summer, Pavard will find a new club no later than next year. In the summer 2019, the 22-year-old could switch to a fixed amount of 35 million euros.

Pavard himself had left his stay in Stuttgart open after the World Cup and explained: “I always said I wanted to play for a Champions League club. That doesn’t mean I have to go this summer. But if there’s an opportunity that satisfies everyone, why not?” In addition to FC Bavaria, Borussia Dortmund, Tottenham and many other clubs have also been denied interest in the WM shooting star.
