Superstar Dirk Nowitzki has been given the key to the city by the mayor of the Dallas metropolis for his achievements on and off the basketball court.
The 40-year-old spice burger was lavishly celebrated when he was honoured in the half-time period of the NBA game between his Dallas Mavericks and the Brooklyn Nets. Dallas won the meeting with 119:113. The sausage burger Maxi Kleber scored eleven points.
“It was also time for me to get the key,” joked Nowitzki after the handover. “It’s time for me to get the key.” It is an absolute honor to represent this club, this great city and the great people all over the world.”

“If you ask me, there are not enough prizes and awards to honor Dirk’s merits over two decades,” Coach Rick Carlisle of the Dallas Mavericks had previously said, “I don’t know exactly what the key really means and what it opens. But if one deserves it, then he.”
Nowitzki is currently in his 21st. Season with the Mavs under contract. He led Franchise 2011 to the only championship so far and is considered the best European in the history of the NBA. Nowitzki has not been used in the current season. After a foot operation in April, the sausage burger is still not operational.
