Bundestrainer Christian Prokop and the German national handball team contest their last endurance test before the European Championship 2020 (9th to 26th January) on January 4th in Mannheim against Iceland. DHB announced this on Friday.
“Iceland is a very good test piece in our EM preparation. The Mannheim fans will give us a lot of energy for the tournament in January with a homecoming atmosphere,”said Prokop, whose team will meet the Netherlands only five days later at the Norwegian Trondheim for the EM start.
Other opponents of the German team in the preliminary round are champions Spain (11th January) and Latvia (13th January). The first two teams reach the main round, which starts on January 16th in Vienna.
