In May 2018, 19-year-old Meritan Shabani extended his contract with FC Bavaria Munich to 2020. Since then, the middleweight player for the Bundesliga team of the record champion has only been in place for a few seconds. The consequence: The talent could leave Munich in the coming days.
After early January already reported the “picture” of a possible departure of Shabanis, the “kicker” confirmed that the young midfielder is on the wish list of Dutch record master Ajax Amsterdam. The traditional club is therefore intensively interested in the services of Noch-Bavaria. It is possible to make a change in the coming days, it is said.
“This is of course also a recognition of our work, if such clubs are interested in our players,” also betrayed Bavarian coach Holger Seitz, for whom Shabani played in the Munich regional league team during the current season 15 games (six goals), that the Dutch have already knocked on the FCB.
Should Shabani leave the FC Bavaria, he would already be the third high-ranking junior player, who turns his back on the record master within a few months.
Franck Evina (18/Loan to Holstein Kiel) and Adrian Fein (19/Loan to Jahn Regensburg) already switched to other clubs in order to get any playing time in the professional field. Unlike Evina and Fein, Shabani is not supposed to be a loan business, but a fixed transfer in conversation.
