DFB legend Lothar Matthaeus has demonstrated his humor with a video that was tweeted by his former club FC Bayern.
The clip bears the name “Bayernwatch” and starts with the trailer of the 90s cult series Baywatch –then Matthaeus looks into the camera.
Stylish with dark sunglasses, Bayern shorts, FC-Bayern-Rettungsboje and a Bavarian training jacket, loosely worn over the naked chest, Matthew slips into the role of Baywatch-salvation swimmer Mitch Buchannon, The cult mime David Hasselhoff once embodied.
At the end of the video Matthew grins into the camera and leaves in his legendary English: “I am ready, and you? I’ll see you on the 17th. July, here in LA – Mia san mia.”

FC Bavaria advertises its US tour in July with the clip. In Los Angeles, the German record champion meets on the 17th. In July at the International Champions Cup at FC Arsenal. In addition to the duel with the Gunners there are tests against Real Madrid (20). July in Houston) and AC Milan (23. in Kansas City) on the program.
